The Silence Broken @ California Brew Haus

Here are a few pics of The Silence Broken from the fifth annual Halloween Bash at the California Brew Haus in Rochester, New York:

John

Nik, Jones and Myka

Justin

This was their first show in six months after taking some time off as singer Nik Humphreys recouperated following a procedure he underwent that required resting his vocal cords. The guys sounded great - treating their fans to two new songs; playing seven songs in all from their forthcoming cd "In Search of Hope".

The band goes back into the studio this week.

The Silence Broken @ California Brew Haus

Some pics from The Silence Broken's show at the California Brew Haus in Rochester, New York on Saturday. It was their first show with new singer Nik Humphreys, and the first time they've played live in nearly two years. In addition to regular fan favorites, the guys played three new songs written with Humphreys. There was a great turnout and the guys sounded awesome! Looking forward to upcoming shows!

The Silence Broken @ California Brew Haus

Below are some pics from Saturday's show at the California Brew Haus in Rochester, New York. The guys played a great set, including three new songs they have not played live prior to Saturday's show. Unfortunately, I was unable to stay for the rest of the bands, including Absolution Project (sorry guys) and Ply.

Missing Bass

After The Silence Broken's last show at The Montage in Rochester, New York on April 26th, John's bass came up missing. It is an Ibanez 4 string SR810 Trans Cherry. The wood grain pattern is very distinctive. There is no serial or model number on the back of the headstock, which is unusual. It was in a hard case, covered in stickers - most of them local bands. This model/color is quite rare.

If you have any information, please contact John. You can also email me at solacepointe@equinesite.com. Thanks.

The Silence Broken @ The Montage

I'm a little behind on my editing - it was a very busy weekend: two shows, and an equine event - but here are some pics (finally!) from Saturday's show at The Montage in Rochester, New York.

Collective Soul @ Waterstreet Music Hall

Awesome show last night at the Waterstreet Music Hall in Rochester, New York. My third time seeing Collective Soul. Caught them over the summer with Counting Crows and Live in Buffalo - my daughters' and my first show together!

Last night was a treat for us - Michael and I were celebrating our twelveth anniversary (a little late; we were unable to get tickets for another venue) as well as our first show together as a couple: Collective Soul @ Harro East in '96.

Josh Kelley and The Whitest Light opened.

The Silence Broken

The Silence Broken @ Penny Arcade 2/15/08

Music is my lifeblood when spending countless hours at my drawing board working on a new piece, or at my computer editing a photo shoot or updating my site. Much of that time is spent co-creating with my son John, as he works on new material for his band, The Silence Broken. As well as being a fan, and a proud Mom - I also do photography for the band, which has taken me out of my "natural" environment and given me another creative outlet.

I was invited to sit in on a practice session last night, getting to hear the band play their new material for the first time, as they prepare for an upcoming show on Saturday. I used this time to also work on a drawing - though the guys were amazed that I could actually sit and draw while they were playing. It wasn't as comfortable as being at my drawing board, but then, it's not every day the music I listen to is played live for me, either. Very cool.

"Guide" is definately my favorite of the three songs they are currently working on. The guys sounded great, and I'm looking forward to seeing them play Saturday. The show is at the California Brew Haus in Rochester, New York. Setiva, Caustic, Absolution Project, Stemm and Approach (Sanity) will also be playing. Should be a great show!
