I'd begged my parents from the time I was nine years old to have a horse. I got all of the parental reasons for why I couldn't have one. Too expensive. Nowhere to keep it. And so on. They thought I'd grow out of it. After all, I'd never even seen a real horse. They were wrong.
I started taking lessons when I was fifteen at a local stable, and after years of saving and waiting, began to look for a horse of my own.
On July 10, 1982 I bought a malnourished and abused yearling colt. He was the complete opposite of what I'd been looking for - breed, age, height, color - but as soon as I saw his face, I was in love. This was my horse.
He was my sixteenth birthday present to myself that year.
This page is dedicated to 30 years with my very best friend and the love of my life Mi Choyce, and all of the wonderful people who've ridden beside us.
* A great deal of our history is pre-digital, so please bear with me as I convert my older images. I'll update and share as time allows. Thanks!
